New Hospital Partnership in Austin with MD Anderson

The University of Texas at Austin is set to build a new hospital in partnership with MD Anderson, located in the Frank Erwin Center, which was once the home of the Longhorns' basketball team. The announcement was made during a press conference at The UT System Administration Building on August 14, 2023. Dr. Claudia F. Lucchinetti, Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs at UT Austin, and the university's president, Jay Hartzell, expressed their support for the project. Michael Dell, CEO of Dell, also announced plans to build a hospital on the University of Texas at Austin campus in partnership with MD Anderson. The hospital will be situated in the space now occupied by the Frank Erwin Center, which was the former home of the Longhorns' basketball team. The university's Board Chairman, Kevin P.
